Remember those days when you had all the time in the world to plan, prepare, and make things pretty? Nope, we don’t either! Life gets BUSY but we still like to show those we love that we care, right? That’s why we’ve put together this list of quick, easy ideas for Valentine’s morning (or any morning you feel inspired for that matter.) Because Date Nights are so last year…
SET A ROMANTIC BREAKFAST TABLE WITH FLOWERS & COFFEE
The key here is to wait until your significant other has gone to bed then lay a cute table that’s all ready for the morning. Because, well, mornings are kinda busy!
WRITE A SHORT LOVE POEM AND TUCK IT UNDER THEIR PLATE
“Roses are red, violets are blue, even though you steal my waffles, I still love you.” Want to borrow our masterpiece? Be our guest!
SECRETLY HEAT THEIR TOWEL IN THE DRYER WHILE THEY SHOWER
There’s nothing better than coming out of a hot shower and wrapping yourself in a warmed towel. It’s a great spa-like way to start a day so surprise your SO by throwing their towel in the dryer and having it ready for them as they step out.
Yes, the old adage that “all you need is love” might be true. But a little effort to show it goes a long way too!
SET UP A (FROZEN) WAFFLE BAR WITH TASTY TOPPINGS
Set up your own waffle bar (our Kashi GO Vanilla Buttermilk Protein Waffles make it easy with nothing more than a toaster) with everything from ice cream and rainbow sprinkles to fried egg with pico de gallo and avocado. You probably don’t need to look much further than what you already have in the pantry/fridge, but just the act of creating something a little special is a show of love in itself.
STICKY NOTE LOVE MESSAGES
Even the most time-deprived amongst us can pull this one off. Grab a pack of sticky notes, write some short love messages, and stick them in random places around the house. #winning.
TURN WAFFLES INTO LOVE HEARTS
So your love surprises you with a gift and you got them nothing? Whip out the cookie cutter and cut a few frozen waffles into love hearts. They’ll be so touched they won’t even notice… (Psst: if your loved one follows a gluten free diet they’ll be doubly touched by you serving them these Kashi GO Protein Vanilla Buttermilk Waffles)
MAKE A VALENTINE’S DAY HOT CHOCOLATE BOMB
If you’ve not seen this trending on social media yet, it won’t be long. Basically, it’s a round chocolate ball with a little secret inside: cocoa and marshmallow. Drop it in a mug of hot milk and your favorite sidekick is in for a special treat.
What you’ll need: chocolate, half circle baking mold, hot cocoa mix, marshmallows.
How to make it: melt chocolate in the microwave, scoop into the molds and freeze 5-10 mins, gently remove the chocolate from the molds. Fill with 1tbs hot cocoa powder & mini marshmallows. Place “tops” on a warmed plate so they melt around the edges slightly then place on top of your filled chocolate and seal. Decorate as desired.)
